LIFE IN CLAY
Get up close with the Birdworld collection and capture their motion in clay.
The Farnham Pottery and Birdworld are teaming up to offer you a unique opportunity to capture the charm and personality of the resident penguins in clay sculptures.
Your day will begin with meeting Squid and his friends during the morning feed. You’ll have the chance to get up close, take photos, and sketch, using the encounter as inspiration for your very own penguin sculpture.
Your ticket includes:
• A meet-and-greet with the penguins
• 4 hour CLAY workshop including making and glazing
• General admission to Birdworld, so you can explore the rest of the collection outside of the workshop
During the workshop, you’ll receive expert instruction in pinch pot and coiling techniques, along with all materials needed to sculpt and glaze your creation. Your finished piece will also be fired for you.
Family Sculpture days
The family ticket includes an adult pass and one child under 18, you can add one additional under 18 child to your group but no more than 2 children and on adult per booking. The responsible adult must accompany the under 18s at all time and will be expected to be active in the activity and help children with the sculpture - its a team effort!
Adult Sculpture days
This session is designed for over 18s only, you don't need to have any clay or sculpture experience - complete beginners are welcome. The session are however designed to teach you the skills to make accomplished works with the training from our artists and therefore are aimed at attentive adults.
Please note:
Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and both under 18s and an adult will need individual tickets for this workshop. Children under 14 would be better suited to the family specific sessions.
