LIFE IN CLAY

Keziah Burt is a Surrey based sculpture and art tutor specialising in portrait, figurative and animal sculpture.

resident artist at Farnham pottery Keziah brings her passionate and enthusiastic teaching - with 15 years of experience across age ranges. 

Notable public commissions include a Bronze portrait bust of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (in her Auxiliary Territorial Service uniform) at the National Army Museum, Chelsea. A bronze portrait of King Charles III, featured in the Royal Tribute Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May and a Bronze tondo of the Chemist Rosalind Franklin.

Animal Sculpture Class

Are you an animal lover?  Then book on to our animal sculpture course with Keziah Burt. Learn to sculpt a portrait bust or small scale version of your beloved pet or favourite animal. Over 6 weeks you will learn constructions techniques whilst developing your observational sculpting skills and have a fabulous time with a class of animal lovers just like you. All you have to decide is which fury family member you want to sculpt first. Keziah will support you throughout the process, giving technical advice and one to one tuition to help you realise your animal sculpture aspirations. 

 

This course is open to complete beginners, no experience is necessary. 

 

All you need to bring is a sense of adventure, a sketching pad and drawing tools and a selection of reference images of your chosen animal. 

Figurative Ceramic Sculpture

A perfect opportunity to learn a new skill, studying with Artist Keziah Burt during our 6 week life sculpture course. Working from live models in the friendly relaxed atmosphere of the CLAY studio loft in Farnham. Each session is 2.5 hours, during which you will learn about the fundamentals of drawing for sculpture, human anatomy, ceramic sculpture techniques and develop your own sculptural style. The course includes: clay, tools and tutition, life models, and firings. 

 

This course is open to complete beginners, no experience is necessary.

Pottery is a great way to get away from the daily grind and do something different, it can encourage us to relax and explore in new ways.
