BEGINNERS COURSE
LEARN WITH CONFIDENCE
The beginners SIX week ceramic course will teach you the basics of the ceramics studio, with our experienced teachers you will gain the confidence to consider yourself a potter.
DISCOVER
Step 1
After a health and safety briefing you will be shown how the studio works, clay preparation and a demonstration of basic wheel techniques.
Then it's over to you start making your first shapes.
Step 2
MAKE
Weeks 2, 3 and 4 are all about the wheel, you will have your own dedicated equipment to maximise your making time.
At the end of these sessions you will have at least two items for you to develop further.
DECORATE
Step 3
Once your items are 'leather hard' you will be able to add decoration and refine them ready for the first firing.
Step 4
GLAZE
In the last week you will be shown the different techniques of glazing and try it out for yourself. Your final works will be fired.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK
What to expect:
The beginners class includes all the materials and equipment you will need. We aim to help you develop the basic skills and techniques involved making, decorating and glazing ceramics. The CLAY experience is all about the it's the joy, rather than the finished item.
You are advised to bring your own apron but we will have some on offer if you forget. Clay can dry your hands so do bring some hand moisturiser with you if you can.

Cancellations and rescheduled classes:
We have a minimum of 4 students in a class, in the unlikely event your class has fewer than 4 students we may need to reschedule the class for a later date. we will give you advanced notice and offer you a refund if we cannot find a new time that suits you.
If you need to cancel or reschedule a class please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your place to somebody else. Although we will try and work with you we cannot offer refunds up to 72 hours before your booking.
