9:30am - 13:00

West Street Potters

This method of surface decoration allows for a greater freedom of line, something which is not always possible on pre-assembled forms, where the form often determines surface decoration. This method is like painting onto a large canvas and then cutting it up and piecing it back together to create a different image - instead of paint and canvas, you will use paper clay slip on a plaster slab.

After a demonstration, attendees will be divided into groups to have a go - The end results would be a simple cylindrical tea bowl or similar.

All materials will be provided but please bring your own tools and any brushes or tools for mark making with slip .
