Tom Platt has created a body of work inspired by The Farnham Pottery; its history and production of the renowned owl jugs. His three dimensional richly painted forms are being exhibited in the Kiln Room Gallery between 20 March and 9 May. The exhibition is titled ‘The Owls are not what they seem’.
Tom will be discussing his work at a ‘Meet the Artist’ evening between 6 and 8 pm on Friday 23 March - this is a free event and you are most welcome to join us for a glass of wine.
Tom Platt has rapidly established himself as an influential artist. He trained in fine art at Kingston-upon-Thames and has an MA from City and Guilds of London Art School. He has exhibited at the Griffin, Pipeline and Charlie Smith Galleries in London. His work investigates the place between painting and sculpture and the relationship between the two using wood, card and heavily textured paint.
